Washington, DC – June 22, 2021 – Doug Maddams has joined Cultural Heritage Partners, PLLC, as an Environmental, Social, Governance (ESG) Senior Advisor. Doug is a social performance leader with more than twenty years of experience advising multi-national companies.

Doug helps clients operationalize commitments to managing cultural heritage risk and to respecting the human rights of indigenous people. More broadly, he has a successful track record working with some of the world’s largest companies and their stakeholders to identify, mitigate, and manage ESG risks for mutually beneficial outcomes. During his career in the energy industry, Doug worked with indigenous peoples globally to negotiate inclusive land access compensation agreements, utilize Free Prior and Informed Consent (FPIC) principles in consultations, and assist in creating comprehensive development programs.

Doug previously worked with Talisman Energy, Hess Corporation, and Motiva Enterprises in Africa, Asia Pacific, South America, the United States, and Canada. Doug shares his leadership and professional experience and has participated in national and international industry associations, a multi-stakeholder human rights and security initiative, and the United Nations Global Compact.
