We are delighted that historic preservation leader Christine Grubbs will join our firm at the start of the new year. Christine will be CHP’s Special Projects Manager and right hand to Founding Partner Greg Werkheiser.
Christine is completing her service as the Associate Manager of Government Relations at the National Trust for Historic Preservation. She helped improve the federal Historic Tax Credit and align it with affordable housing and to tackle deferred maintenance and enhance historic leasing in the National Park Service. She helped secure permanent funding for the Land and Water Conservation Fund and increase federal appropriations for preservation programs.
Before joining the Trust’s Government Relations team, Christine served in the Development Division. Previously she worked in fundraising at the Glimmerglass Festival opera company.
Christine earned her BA in History, Classics, and Religion from Gettysburg College and her MA in Museum Studies from the Cooperstown Graduate Program, SUNY Oneonta.
She enjoys travel, especially to museums, historic sites, and national parks.
Greg Werkheiser stated, “Christine is a creative and passionate leader. She will help us manage projects that are particularly complex, fast-moving, and involve multiple stakeholders from across sectors. We are delighted that our clients and colleagues will soon benefit from her many talents.”
Christine remarked, “I have had the pleasure of working with many people at Cultural Heritage Partners through my work at the National Trust for Historic Preservation, and I am truly excited and honored to be joining such a bold, collaborative, and dynamic team.”
Christine becomes CHP’s 17th team member, joining lawyers, policy advocates, archaeologists, tribal liaisons, art scholars, and operations staff. Now in its 11th year, CHP serves clients globally through its Heritage Preservation, Art and Antiquities, Indigenous Heritage, and ESG practice areas.
